Design of accessible, practical and beautiful courtyard garden and ancillary spaces for a new development of 62 dwellings for older people in Lewisham, London. Particular consideration was given to the heavily architectural context and to offering a place for all seasons. Plant choice was therefore crucial, comprising ornamental trees and shrubs with rich and abundant perennials and herbaceous plants providing a symphony of scent and colour alongside a robust yet elegant hard materials palette.
